I had this bow for a few years now the string popped off the cam after the first few shots being my first crossbow I wasn't sure what I had done but after seeing some testers had that same effect I found a bow shop to fix it and haven't had any issues since absolutely a wonder bow extremely comfortable and wonderful to shoot I've shot as far as 70 yards just shooting around the yard and hit every shot would recommend and have to everyone I could
All it took was one screw to put it together out of the box. Came already sighted in and incredibly accurate. I got it on the 50% off sale but even for the full price if $700 I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a great crossbow

The hypertac 420 is totally unbelievable. First off it was such a user-friendly website. Totally fast shipping. The i had questions...in which i received a phone call from barnett....who was so knowledgeable about all my questions. When I built the 420 instructions were super easy. First shot blew my mind. I would never have guessed it was as powerful as it was. (Bolts went so deep into the high speed target were I could not see it. Had to pull the bolts the rest of the way through.) Total smooth action from trigger pull to the release of the bolt. Scope on the 420 is perfect. Easiest instructions to sight the scope on. The 420 comes completely ready with everything you need to be ready for the hunt. So..I Just want to say the Barnett Hypertac 420 is definitely the baddest crossbow out there. Don't believe me....get one for yourself....you will agree... I will bet on it.
Great quality at a great price. Easy to sight in and extremely effective on whitetail. Managed a mature 9 pt buck and doe last season and zipped clean through both. Absolutely nothing bad to say and extremely happy with my purchase!

Low overall movement post trigger pull. Makes it easier to follow your shot and target visually. Buried my first shot past fetching...definitely need high speed targets.

I bought these to have as a backup in case of an emergency during or close to hunting season. The packaging they came in did not have any identifying information so I hope they are the right ones. The original string on my new Recruit XP is already showing some serving separation on the cam area and center serving as well as wear on the center serving even though it is kept lubed which makes me question the quality of the string. I did not want to replace with an aftermarket string touted for quality materials and construction in case something happens during the bow warranty period.

Bought these to put on my Recruit XP as I noticed the rails were drilled and tapped for them after seeing them on a different XP model on display. I am glade they were available from Barnett to try. Hard for me to discern if they make a difference in quieting the bow or not as I have no way to measure the noise level. To my ear not much if any difference but I guess it doesn't hurt to have them on.
Bought these as replacements in case I needed them. Not sure of durability yet. Thought price was a little high for what they are.
