I was so surprised by this crossbow and it is the 4th Barnett I have owned. The balance is great and the light weight is wonderful! Tennis ball size groups out to 50 yards and unless you like buying bolts you had better not shoot twice at the same spot. Shooting Victory X-Bolts with brass inserts and 125gn heads this crossbow is quiet. The Step Through Riser is great for using the rope cocker to reload in my stand.
I purchased my STR in March 2024 and I’ve taken 2 deer the last 2 seasons with it. It hits in target every time. Small groupings out to 50 yards at the home range with the stock scope. In 2025 I did my first trip up north to Illinois with it and it performed as expected even in extreme cold and crawling through high grass fields in some spot-stalk. Nailed an old timer on day 5. I love the STR and look forward to my son using it eventually also.

Had a lim Crack now this bow is 4 years old I thought that was gone .guy at the shop ask if I registered it Imight be under warranty and it was sent to barnett no problem had it back in a week. Thanks Jennifer for your help Rick H.

I got mine for $319 and it’s awesome. I ordered the crank for it because I have wrist problems. My center serving is showing a tiny amount of wear but far from needing a new serving. Factory scope is good enough for hunting deer to about 40 yards but you will need a better scope to see the full potential of this crossbow. Give it a good scope and good bolts and you will love it. Big punch coming from such a small compact crossbow. Really surprised how fast this little sucker is. My son loves it, and loves being on armadillo patrol.
This is not my first crossbow but it is the best one I have ever owned. I swapped out the somewhat basic scope that came stock for a larger one adjustable for velocity. Great call; I can put bolt after bolt into a 3 inch circle at 50 yards... though I would prefer a closer shot, it's nice to know how accurate it is. Solidly built, great safety features & fun to shoot. I have fired it about 50 times with zero issues other than the bolts penetrating the target too much & fletching getting damaged.
This bow, hands down beats any crossbow within that price range on the market, Super-fast and drives tacks.
Excellent product. It hit the target right out of the box. I made minimal adjustments and had it dead on. My daughter claimed it for opening day.
