normaly a recurve hunter, last year due to a wrist injury hunted with my wildcat recurve crossbow. at 25 to 30 yards, with a two blade mechanical, complete pass through he went ten yards , leaned against a tree and tipped over dead. i have complete confidence in my wild cat. but do be aware of not taking longer shots
I bought this crossbow knowing I would love it. I have unboxed the crossbow and put it all together. Took it out and sent some bolts down range. Wow, 410 fps is fast, and QUIET. This is my 4th crossbow from Barnett.

I just purchased my first Barnett crossbow the Alpha 410 and purchased headhunter 20 arrows and I love how it shoots and feels its a tackdriver its a great bow for the money and I can't wait for Vermont archery season to start.

2 Seasons and Still Killing
I purchased my STR in March 2024 and I’ve taken 2 deer the last 2 seasons with it. It hits in target every time. Small groupings out to 50 yards at the home range with the stock scope. In 2025 I did my first trip up north to Illinois with it and it performed as expected even in extreme cold and crawling through high grass fields in some spot-stalk. Nailed an old timer on day 5. I love the STR and look forward to my son using it eventually also.
